I've not long bought another 1.8 Freelander, after a couple of days all of a sudden there was the sound of water leaking behind the centre consol and the screen steamed up instantly!! Not good!

So as soon as i got home i bypassed the matrix from the bulkhead and started searching for a new matrix.

The problem i seem to have come across is that there appears to be 2 types.

How do i find out which mine is without removing the dash, as i'd prefer to remove and refit all in 1 day.

It's a 2001 1.8 es, 5 door!

or from Land Rover parts

JEF500010 for vin 1Annnnnn onwards which should be ours if it's a 2001.

JEF100150 for vin up to 1A999nnn

I now have the part number required! Thanks Hippo.
But does anyone know of any good quality oe parts that don't cost the earth?!
It's the later JEF500010 matrix I need.

£45 for a used one on Ebay, might be cheaper through Parts Gateway - got some good but cheap stuff through that site before.

Yeah saw the used ones on eBay but was too sure if used was the best option?? Didn't fancy spending a day replacing it only for that one to go in a couple of months! I'll take a look on parts gateway though, if I can find one that's been pressure tested it could be ok?!
