It worked and saved me removing the frame or drilling near the tank - scary - or welding - even scarier !!
And - if I ever get struck by lightening......................o_O

Thanks for that. Unfortunately, I have nothing to attach to, the plates are just confetti. The main support bars are tubular and rotted as well. I am going to get a bracket and see about cutting in half and rebolting it. I have spent around ten days underneath the car. I've changed back brakes and drums, changed handbrake cables and removed the three rear diff support brackets, I have replacement brackets, but the main bolts are worn and new ones arrive on Wednesday. In true Freelander fashion, it has fought me every inch of the way, I had to drill out all handbrake fixing points and the last rear diff bolt was a three hour job to remove, even after moving the exhaust to one side. The weather has been something else, Scottish sunshine at the moment, it's ****ing down. We don't get sunburn up here, we go rusty. I will take pics from start to finish and hope it works out.

Strange site this. I can't say ****ing down, but I can access lots of pics of women flashing their gash!

We're melanoma central, but I can get all the diff and brake bolts undone as easy as the day they were fitted (once I realise that the stubborn end is actually a welded nut!).
