I would support a petition to scrap all road tax as it doesn't do what it says on the tin. Must be a trades description offence there somewhere.

You write to land rover traceability department who will tell you when it was made. And give you a letter and docs which you show the dvla and hey presto free tax

Yeah they have number phone lode lane and ask them but you still have to write as every thing is done in writing

Vehicle Excise Duty, which I am led to believe was brought in to pay for road repairs etc. It just gets swallowed up into the Exchequers Coffers and spat out to the local Councils. Still a Road Tax though init?

Also signed the blighter but is a car manufactured pre 1986 a classic? The answer must be yes as there arent that many 80's cars on the road now, when did you last see a Ford Sierra on the road, there were lots just a few years ago.
