Hello all!

I'm a student at Imperial College in London and I'm working with the R&D people at Jaguar Land Rover to try and understand what customers really want in terms of features and capabilities in the Range Rover. I would like to interview and observe 10 people with a L322 or L405 Range Rover and whom use them regularly in their daily activities.

This work has been commissioned by Nigel Clarke, head of the All Terrain Vehicle Mega Project at JLR. These guys were responsible for the Driverless Bonnet, Remote Control and Laser guidance tech on the latest Discovery concept.

The insights generated by my work will potentially be used in developing new capabilities in future RR models. This is your chance to get your say in the development process.

In return for a couple of hours of your time, each participant will receive a free voucher for the London/Luton Land Rover Experience Centre worth £225.

I would like to conduct the research in October. So if you have an L322 or L405 RR, can spare a couple of hours in October and fancy a day out a Land Rover Experience centre, please let me know!

Almost choked on my coffee.....oh how so very true....

I have both and L322 and a P38, both in daily use and I would love for Land Rover to get back on track with what the original LR brand was about...not blinged up jokes like the Evoque or the dreadful mess they look to be making with the new Disco....

Forget trying to market to idiots with too much money and whos wives are banging the pool boy cos they cant keep their wives happy...you know materialistic pratts....and go back to honest to goodness Land Rovers designed and built for a purpose...to take people on an adventure....not to look good outside Harrods and the local fecking wine bar!
 
That is exactly what I want to hear. This is an opportunity to provide feedback, warts and all, and get an LRE voucher in the bargain.

I'm not going to ask you to fill-in a survey or complete some type of questionnaire asking what you like about the Range Rover/brand/service.

This project is really about listening to existing owners and structuring your thoughts and experiences in a way in which the R&D people at JLR can potentially work with.

And hopefully it will be fun to boot!

What you will get from folks on here are opinions & alot of stick about the failings of JLR regarding poor design / quality / manufacturing control that is more evident as the vehicle is older, or at least beyond it's warranty period. I doubt the bean counters at JLR would give a monkeys what is said on here.
Personally i think JLR lost it's way with the Range Rover after the P38. Badging the Evoke with the same badge is just an insult to RR enthusiasts but obviously good for their sales.
Today it is all about image & pointless gadgets to catch the eye of city hedge fund managers.......or footballers.

Half the people you sell R/R's to would not be able to fill in a questionnaire, it would have to be pictures to point at!! Send me your latest R/R and a credit card for fuel and I will give you my honest opinion. From what I have seen of the latest offerings all the R&D people need sacking:rolleyes::) PS. don't send me a Sport, the seats are like my garden bench nor a Ejoke, don't like driving in a balaclava.

What is it about the P38 that captures the essence of a Range Rover? What does the Range Rover mean to you personally?

Are you saying that the vehicle is being dumbed-down?

R/R has been "dumbed down" since the end of the P38 production IMO. Nigel Clarke is wasting your time and JRR's money. I wonder how many R/R owners want to take their £70k+ cars off road. Just do a bit of research into what R/R was in the early days and look what it has become. All Terrain Vehicles my ar5e, they may get a bit wet and muddy on the school run.:)

The kids shoes do need a good clean. The interior gets awfully dirty when they are in the back :mad:

dont even get me started on cleaning custard cream crumbs out between the seats!!!!! Talk about offroad... sheesh!
