In my Disco 2 the movement sensor/PIR whatever it flipping is is misbehaving. Setting the alarm off if I lock it with the remote.
So tried to find a way of disabling it with the above diagnostic.
It is possible that I am looking in the wrong subsection of the mkenus but I just cannot seem to find it.
I looked in security etc first as it seemed to be the obvious place but no.

Also, nothing to do with this, it has just told me that my ACE relay isn't working despite erasing codes, but the warning luight comes on on turning the ignition key then goes off and stays off and I can hear the pump working.

Beginning to fall out of love with it!

Any help would be much appreciated TIA

If they didnt release some firmware update to the basic menus you can't do anything with it for that particular issue unless you find an option to disable the volumetric alarm in the BCU settings... unplug the volumetric sensors then you'll be OK

As about the ACE, as long as the system works that's a false code unless somebody bodged up the warning light's self test which is possible... does it start amber then goes to red then out? if it works this way the system is OK... If it's just amber then out then it's tricked, the pump is belt driven so nothing to do with the electronics

I always lock mine using the key, not the remote, to avoid setting the internal sensors (and superlock). I was that idiot in a Lidl car park whose alarm was going off when I left a sunroof open.:eek::eek::eek: I know I can change the settings with the Nanocom, but I've kept it this way just in case I need the volumetric sensors at some point.

Now you are going to say your key doesn't work...o_Oo_Oo_Oo_O
 
Don't want to make daft suggestion but have you tried cleaning sensors.
Had issue with mine, tried closing vents, changing battery, then cleaned the sensors, checked connections and all was good.
Well with the alarm !

One trick that worked with the under headliner receiver was popping open the box and storing the printed circuit in dried rice overnight.

I did look in the BCU menus, I am beginning to wonder if I just do not recognise the acronym for the volumetric sensor.
So if anyone could tell me what they would expect to find then I would be very grateful.
Yes I lock it with the key, had no choice really, so that continues to not be a problem. It is just a pain when you have armfuls of stuff.
My symptoms are, I lock it with the remote, I walk away, about 10 seconds later it sounds. so it isn't instantaneous.
As I have never played with it, is the receiver in the centre of the roof, near the rear sunroof opener? Or is it anything to do with the two sort of "magic eye" things above the nearside B post?

As for the ACE, no the light on the dash does go through both red and amber on start up, then goes off. This car has never been bodged by anyone having had very careful owners before me! The only modification i have ever found is the fitting of a charging unit for a leisure battery by a previous caravanning owner, who disconnected it before he sold it to its last owner, before me. But nicely left the unit there.

When I said I could hear the pump, what I meant was that when cornering I can hear what to me is the "normal" sound of it working to conteract the body roll. But maybe I am hearing something else, like the rams being acutated. Would that make sense?

At the end of the day I'll contact Foxwell who it has to be said were very straight with me before.

Which model of Foxwell do you have?

The receiver is the little black box under the rear headliner, near the rearmost interior light. Damp is an issue here.
Dunno if they all same, but my sensors where above LH B pillar and RHR near grab handle.

Ultrasonic Sensors work by emitting very high frequency soundwaves – undetectable by human ears. The sound waves will bounce off the object being measured and bounce back to the sensor itself. The item fitted in a disco sends and receives in one unit, not all vehicles have that.

RIRs are Passive Infrared sensor work by utilise the detection of infrared that is radiated from all objects that emit heat.

Both types of sensors do have issues being electronic with components failing within, theres no diagnostic available for the individual item, so fault finding involves the item replacement.
And yes there is receiver above the roof lining, the unit receives radio waves, and amplifies them.

I know there is a fault with it, all I want to do is turn it off using my diagnostic which I know is possible with some.
So far it appears, not with Foxwell.
So I will resort to unplugging it.

Having dogs often in the car I used to need to do this often so not new to it. also on taking ferries.
Btu as desrcibed it started being silly when locked witht the fob.
I now wish I had a nanocom to do just this as apparently my Foxwell wont.
Just out of interest, where on your Nanocom is the menu to find and do this?
Just in case I have been looking in the wrong place?
