this is the first I've seen in person and have been looking around for 2 months or so I guess, but why?...why is it so bad?

all i'm saying is dont buy the first one you see, and be prepared to wait for the right one to turn up

but if you have cash burning a hole and feel the need to buy it then you carry on

the last S3 i bought cost £350 and just need a brake light bulb for the MOT, and it had had a very good recent respray and a new set of those fancy "orginal" ish seats

what kind of MPG does it get?

running his v8 on water Si will be getting about 120 mpg

i never have worked out the mpg on any of mine but i hear figures of about 10 - 15 with the wind in the right direction

That does seem a lot of money for a fixer upper.

Paid 750 for my series III '72 swb. Only need a bit of wiring on headlight to get thru test. excellent chassis. will need a bit doing on door pillars but apart from that it's a fine example.

Good uns are out there, you just have to keep em peeled.

all that chequer plate stuff appears to be fitted in some cunning places, the suspicious types would be wondering what rusty holes are hidden below and then what other flaws have been hidden, i on the other hand would probably have already parted with my cash and be driving the rust bucket home......
