I did the exact same in the exact same car....driving up the road on a summers day was like driving in thick fog....
Yeah, I dropped a single shot of Redex straight down the carb one day, spluttered a bit and it was a good thing I had the garage doors open at the time! :D

I spoke to the bloke that I got the link from - he runs a small garage, and has done for years. He is considering buying a machine ! If I were him, I'd wait for a clogged up customer car to come in and offer it as an 'innovative experimental' service. :)

The misting water does exactly the same thing the site says introducing gas into the mixture does .. makes the exhaust burn hotter, water is H2O .. extra Oxygen means extra heat during burn time.

Water dosnt burn. Spraying a mist into the engine dosnt magically turn it into its separate elements, all you will do is take energy from the combustion process, reduce power and exhaust temperature.

A friend of mine on FB, who has done work on my 300tdi, likes a page on FB, that is potentially snake oil.

Heres the link : Carbon clean

Is this an actual viable alternative to dismantling and refurbish? I doubt it... :)

Do we really want to put hydrogen and oxygen into the air intake? Will it actually do anything?

I have never seen that advertised like that, but injecting water into the inlet manifold has often been used before.

I think the theory was that water vapour turned to steam. Allowing for more expansion of the charge within the cylinder and more power.

It isnt really to do with hydrogen or oxygen, they are not present as elements, they are locked up in the H2O compound.

I did wonder .. what I wrote is what I recall someone saying about it. Whatever, it seems a faff to me ... good servicing is usually all it takes to keep an engine going properly. The occasional burnout helps too .. ;)
