I had look under "advanced search" "sold listings" on the bay.
didn't dare say what I found!!:D:D:D
So @gstuart is the maaaan!!!

lol, ur make me blush my friend , bless u , :)

indeed surprising how many are coming up for sale , seen a good few where the mechatronic also decides to fail or mess around

however I’ve found where they try and read codes with a cheap old scanner giving false readings and down the wrong route , sadly I spent endless hours pinning down errors earlier this year and really opened my mind of how many of the systems worked

I buy all sorts of scrap as you know lol but would give that a wide berth unless it was free, a decent clutch
is 400 sovs then fitting, plus transporting it here so 1500 quid & I aint seen it up close.

plus 1 , with all the other errors couldn’t see anyone trying to repair it get away with a bill under 2k , that’s of course if the oil pump / timing belts have already been done

Too much of a pig in a poke!
Feck it, anything beyond a D1 is complex, a D3 would feck my brains out electronix-wise.
the guy who bought my work top has a MG midget in his garage, inherited from his dad, one owner, parked up when the clutch went and never touched since. Now that is MY sort of barn find!!!
Not that I'd want one, but we both know we could get it running in 5 minutes stopping in 15 and with the clutch replaced in a morning!

talking of clutches I done one on my series 3 safari , think it took me longer getting the bolts out the seat base than it did the clutch

out some webbing round my neck to lift the gearbox back enough , also fitted an overdrive at the same time, then struggled trying to get the Speedo back , lol

looking back adored the simplicity of the series 3 but must confess really enjoy the modern creature comforts of the D3

Yikes that’s a bit high for an 07 , particularly it needing a new clutch , along with if the new upgraded pump has been changed, then the management lights can be a multitude of things

think u would be lucky to get 1k for it considering a lot more are now coming on the market

Not being horrible just honest opinion

Yes it's worth nothing like £2k when someone is going to have to pay at least that to get it up to scratch.
Unfortunately a manual D3 that obviously needs work is basically scrap value only.
