The interior of my defender is in pretty good shape but one thing that bugs me is there is no carpet in the drivers footwell.

I have found various places that do the Premium Carpet Set for approx £175, but all I am really after is the piece for the two footwells as per this link:

Does anybody know anywhere that would just do these bits?

Afraid I can't comment on those carpet sets as I have never seen them.

Personally, in over 30-years of LR ownership I have never had carpets or mats in any of my vehicles. Carpets can hold moisture and encourage footwell rot and I have just never felt the need for mats. I am sure they must help with noise reduction and heat retention but once again, these issues have never been a problem for me and bare surfaces are easier to keep clean.
If I was going for anything then it would have to be removable (rubber) mats as at least they can be removed from time to time to make sure it is all nice & dry. I should imagine that fitted carpets are a lot more difficult to remove periodically (the Lucari set looks like it is glued into place). With the best will in the world, most Defenders tend to leak somewhere at some time and I prefer not to allow that moisture to stick around any longer than necessary.

Of course vehicle carpets have there place and both the car & motorcaravan have nice plush wall to wall floor coverings but then again, they don't tend to get wet inside!

Agree with the above. I just have rubber mat in mine over thefloor plate. Easy to remove to clean and dry and does not hold moisture like carpet does. Even if you don’t off road and get muddy land rovers are not know for being water tight. So much so Land Rover themselves released a separate manual on how to make the slightly more waterproof!

Footwell carpet in a land rover ! That is like chalk and cheese. And you live in Cumbria not Dubai

Well I found out the reason why only one footwell has a carpet... the one without seems to have a nice like

Guess a new seal and rubber mat it is
