Pedal rotted and bent in half, had the same on a 58 s1 years ago.

Ok guys
the pedal is very sound, with no obvious leaks and I can't see any springs, or anywhere where a spring may be fitted.
It is a 1958 so a later one.

Return Spring should be on the same bracket as the brake light switch spring.
some times the piston rod & piston seize a bit,check the dust cover is in place
