Hello Everybody,

I have what looks like ATF fluid (it's red and smells like oil) on my passenger side mud flap?

I can't see how it's getting there, there doesn't seem to be anything above it to drip down. There's no mark on the tyre to suggest it's been flung there, and there is no pipework that I can see that would be leaking.

It's as if it's oozing through from behind the mounting bolts.

Does anyone have any idea where it might be coming from. It got to be the gearbox or the power steering I'd have said.

Is that on that side? I thought that was on the drivers side.

Cheers for the suggestion though, I'll go and have a look.

The reservoir is on that side at the front. No sign of a leak there though. TBH it's not leaking now, perhaps I drove through a puddle of ATF and the wheels splashed a load up there?

Either way I can't see where it's coming from!

it will be the atf flap screw leaking, replace asap:)

Well it's got me stumped.

I can't see where it might have come from. The gearbox oil cooler pipes are the only thing I can think of, but there is no obvious leak, and it would have to be a very fine jet of ATF to get where it's got.

I think I probably drove through a puddle of the stuff and it just got flung up by the tyres.

Check the level over the next few days. If you had driven through a puddle of it the chances are it would have splashed up a bit more than a confined area. It wouldn't be dye or oil from your A/C would it?
