I'm looking to try and source a flexible section for my snorkel for the part that goes through the wing so that the windscreen can still be folded down with snorkel in situ. At the moment its an all metal affair. I know I can get the usual air ducting but its not solid enough for something that's going to be outside of the vehicle. I'm thinking of the kind of hose that's on hoovers, some heavy plastic stuff, but I can't seem to find any in the diameter I'm after. Anyone got any ideas?

I used the flexible pipe from a series set up.
its on a series tho, presume yours is, being able to fold the screen down?

Nope, an early 90. 1987 to be exact but I've got proper hinges on the windscreen. Where did you get yours from? I know what I'm after but can't find anywhere that sells it individually

I was looking for a more heavy duty one as it will be external so needed it to be a bit more damage proof than the usual air ducting. The stuff at Rimmer Bros looks alright but doesn't specify a diameter or length

you searched for 'air intake hose' on ebay? there's loads of different ones. rubber, silicon, neoprene, from other cars, etc

Yup but I can't find anything like what I'm after. I can find the usual air ducting but I want something more akin to hoover hose but can't find it in a large enough diameter

What's a swivel joint? Anything that does the job will do, its just to replace a metal section of my snorkel with a tough flexible section so that my windscreen can still be folded down

what's the snorkel you've got on?

No idea, it was on when I bought it but its a solid metal pipe with a mushroom top bent to fit the profile of the windscreen. Goes in through a hole in the top of the wing

Monmouthplastics.co.uk do exactly what I'm after but only a minimum of 15m and its £237

Basically a crush resistant flexible hose with 63mm diameter

Sourced some stuff. My dad knows a guy who owns an appliance repair shop in Glasgow and he can get his hands on industrial hoover hose, 63mm internal diameter at £12 a metre. Much cheaper than anywhere else I've found. Looks like ill be ordering a length.

no specific pics of the snorkel, but a generic one of the set up.
2 x diesel intake flexi's and a lump of bog pipe.
