So I don't fancy paying £170 for a kenlowe to replace the viscous unit on the daily driven 110, so had a look on fleabay to see what I could find.
Even though there's a lot of info on here on the unit out of a Ford Mondeo, I figure if I'm paying £20-30 from a breakers, I mayaswell pay £35-40 and get a new "sealed motor" one which I will mount up nicely with an autoswitching thermostat. No towing or off-roading means the spec is pretty relaxed.
Has anyone had any experience with Fleabay-Link
Next bit: I'm sick of the rear door closing on my hands/legs/face. Anyone know what spec gas strut I need for the back door? Was thinking a 550-600mm (between centres) gas strut, with fixed force of around 100N and a simple clevis foot would do the job. Foot will need some reinforcement at the door, but it will still be a nicer, and cheaper job than a £50 kit requiring the same amount of work.
Any pointers/experience with either appreciated, ta.
