Freelander has been running great, until Saturday - I have suddenly developed a flat spot starts at 2000 revs up until about 2800 then pulls again. going to try replacing the fuel filter this week to see if that sorts it

Has anyone seen anything like this?

Fuel filter won't do.
May be a split hose which is more probable. Low pressure pump... needs proper diag before you guess it by changing parts.

To be honest I was about to order new hoses before I got this proplem, I might just do that anyway before I look at anything else

Check the little ones 1st. I spent 400 quid with this issue rather than 3 quid for the hose that went to vacuum

Check all the vacuum hoses, or better still just replace them all.

Found the hole - hose to the EGR valve had a split in it big enough to put my finger in! Ordered a new set of silicone hoses and wrapped the current one up with duct tape until they arrive. I had parked this up and switched to the Astra until I got this one sorted, but a bloody brakepad delaminated and fell of on the way home from work yesterday! So ordered a new set of pads for that as well.
