Hi landy lovers ... I'm right in the sh*t .. came back to my 4.4v8 after two weeks and the battery flat.. wont power the central locking.. I don't have door key holes (I've looked under the chrome covers) I've taken the the wheel liner off.. gave what I think is the bonnet cable a good tug.. no good.. ive looked at the starter motor while I was under and can see no way of getting to the live wire... so all that's left is a house brick !!!! can any one give me any advise how I can open the bonnet without violence ... many thanks stuart...

This was on RangeRover.net a while back. He got into a side marker light "a circular orange light on the fender", fed power in through the cabling to the light and got the car to respond to the key.

The bonnet cable runs on top of the wing....no idea what you tugged but I am sure it wasn't the release cable!

Only choice before violence is to use a hook and reach up under the grill under the slam panel and find the TWO release cables and give them a good tugging!

I think i can afford you one minor misdemeanor in 11000 + posts, plus its me not making myself clear as usual. :)

Hows the nipper ?

Hi Landy lovers.... well I finally got in.... with a lump hammer..!!! well that's not quite true.. the hammer wouldn't work so I used a centre punch.. but any way im in... after a second hand glass from ebay (£40) and about four hours with the hoover its all done.. so todays top tip from 'stupid Stuart'.. is don't expects your range rover to start after 17 days !!... or if you do make sure you have a door lock...... just as a foot note when I got around to charge the battery all of a sudden my normal charger and my conditioner charger wont work with the battery connected to the car ??? what that all about ???.. cheers stuart
