The side lights on our LDV V80 vans are LED and built into the head lamp unit and good for the life of the vehicle.

Which is why we keep having to change whole lamp units cos the side lights have failed. Frikin expensive side lights. Good earner for the manufacturer.

Does it pass the MOT with LEDs in there? My MOT garage now fail LEDs that aren't factory fitted, which they are entitled to do now.
I thought it was the colour of the light being important, no blue tint. I have been told they hold white paper to them to check the colour.

My MOT garage are now checking "E" markings on the lamp assembly, and for LED bulbs fitted where filament bulbs should be.
I've put LED number plate lamps in my FL2, which came under some scrutiny, but as they're "E" marked, they pass them. If I'd put LED bulbs into the original lamp assemblies, they'd fail them, as retrofit LED bulbs aren't and can't be "E" marked.
