I don't really know what I am looing for. I assume the power supply is because it is an electrical gauge. I had a look on paddocks but the search came up blank. Any ideas where I could find one?
I'm sure I've seen em cheaper than that. Try vehicle wiring products or one of the other Landie places you will probly get em from a local automotive place and save on the postage.
Yeah I have keep an eye on it all the time and it is fine. Although I would like to know when I take the dipstick out there is just a thin line up the middle of the dipstick where as the dipsticks on most cars just get completely coated in oil, is this right or should mine be copletly cated as well?
Check the oil when the car is cold - pull the dipstick and wipe it, then put it back in all the way and immediately pull it back out.
Diesels make the oil dirty very quickly (just shows it's doing it's job well, don't worry about the colour) if you've not got a 'normal' reading add a litre of oil.
I just checked the oil level and the engine is cold and this time the dipstick was completly coated and it was right up to the top of the hi mark just under the R of the DANGER marking. I assume this it right.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooo that's snot right at all it should be within the high and low marks when the engine hasn't been running so the oil has drained down into the sump. Having it too full increases crankcase pressure and can blow oil seals.
