good afternoon fellow landy owners, i was wondering if you guys could help me with something, i have a 1996 4.6 and the lights on the gear shift seem to be constantly flashing and wont select sport or manual mode, has anyone came across this before that could lend a friendly piece of advice,

First thing, disconnect the battery for a while!!!

thanks for your reply, not been home for a bit, will try that today, how long, an hour/ overnight?

my fave is to disconnect the battery whilst the ignition and headlights are on and then connect the red and black cables together. neither should be connected to the battery at this point btw just to avoid confusion!

this means that at the point the power is disconnected there are all the relevant circuits open and hopefully when you connect the two together (do it quickly) it short circuits the car and completely zeros and voltages remaining in the systems.

leave it like this for about 10 minutes.

we have had success before with electrical faults (engine management lights and airbag lights etc) just by using this method to reset the car.
