The tailgate struts on my 2012 FL2 have started screeching and sticking. Ebay listings from about £28 a pair to an eye watering £94 from Land Rover. Any advice re sourcing?

Get Stabilus ones, they are OE.
I paid £27.50 for the pair back in 2018 from N4S Motors who sell on eBay.

Cant tell you about fl2, but ebay cheapies on my d3 still going well after 5 plus years.

Thanks for that, screeching finally got me down and I replaced them on e-bay from ‘parts in motion’. £28.06 as you recommended ‘stabilus’ originals.

No problem, I've just got some for the tailgate of my 'new' FL2 which are past their best which has been highlighted in the colder weather.
The garage I got it from replaced the bonnet ones with Stabilus units before I picked it up.

just noticed this post.
Am i being silly in asking if you tried grease or lubricant first?.
Maybe teaching grandmother to suck eggs,

The gas struts are sealed, or the gas would leak out, so lubricants don't work.
