Hi

since a few weeks the tailgate decided to not unlock when pressing the unlock doors button on the FOB as well as in the car. It only unlocks when pressing the tailgate button on the FOB. Any ideas what that could be?

Thanks in advance!

Does it release if you press and hold the lock and unlock buttons each side of the hazard switch on the console for 5 seconds?
This should release the boot lock, just like the boot button on the fob.

Edited for increased accuracy.

Yes it does. But why out of a sudden this change of behaviour? Why isn‘t it releasing the boot lock when pressing the fob?

Maybe the button on the fob has failed. Does the button on the boot lid still work.
The problem is, when I press the separate button for the boot lid it releases it as expected, however, when I press the generic door opener button (on the fob and also on the console) all the doors are unlocked but not (anymore!) the boot lid.

The boot switch is known to fail, so if its not releasing from the boot switch (between the numbers plate lights), then it needs the switch replacing.

I'd agree it's a common issue, I did the switch on mine last weekend.
Getting the number plate lamps out was a bit of a fiddle and I ended up cracking the tailgate handle slightly.
