I have a fl2 2007 hse auto, it has a slight whistle wwhen accelerating any ideas what it may be. Running fine 34mpg. Engine warning light on emissions?
Check the boost hoses. There are 4, and any one can split. I've replaced all mine as a matter of course. A code read will tell you what the MIL is for, but it's likely connected to a split boost hose too.
Thanks for that, will check them out.Check the boost hoses. There are 4, and any one can split. I've replaced all mine as a matter of course. A code read will tell you what the MIL is for, but it's likely connected to a split boost hose too.
Do you replace with rubber? Thinking of upgrading to silicone.Check the boost hoses. There are 4, and any one can split. I've replaced all mine as a matter of course. A code read will tell you what the MIL is for, but it's likely connected to a split boost hose too.
I always replace rubber with silicone if available. The front 2 hoses are available in silicone, as is the turbo outlet hose.Do you replace with rubber? Thinking of upgrading to silicone.
How long to change all four turbo hoses.I always replace rubber with silicone if available. The front 2 hoses are available in silicone, as is the turbo outlet hose.
These are the front hoses.View attachment 294515
It depends on your skill set, and tools available. How long to change all four turbo hoses.
Thats great, sounds 1hr 1/2 will suffice. ThxIt depends on your skill set, and tools available.
The long lower hose (the long one in the picture) requires the front bumper to be removed to get to it, which is about a 30 minute job. The plastic section to throttle body hose takes about 20 minutes, but it's not easy. I actually think it's quicker to remove the TB and join the hoses up as an assembly, then slip them into place. These are the only 2 hoses I could find listed as silicone.
The turbo hose is easy, so maybe 15 minutes. I used a later hose, which is an orange/red colour, and looks like silicone as standard. The lower front hose is again a bumper off job, but I couldn't fine a silicone replacement, so had to use a factory rubber hose.
