Hi folks - again.

In the kit there two smaller rings and the larger black o ring - in Arctic2's 5th picture down left hand side - there was nothing (as per his picture) I assume that's where this ring goes???

Hi navigator.
That is where I fitted my large O-ring that came with the kit

Okay dokey, that's what I did. Thank you.

You can remove the regulator without taking the starter off, but it's bleddy fiddly.

What happens to the original bits of o ring, there was nothing inside?

And

It hasn't fixed the problem... I've had to replace the LPFP as that was failing to deliver enough fuel (engine management light started coming on) - I've also done the fuel filter and serviced the rest of the usual guff. I may have a set of injectors to borrow - but haven't done a leak back test yet.

seriously the o rings had actually GONE comletely. wow.
The bits of rubber could well be stuck in the injectors causing some of the issues, but never having stripped an injector, I am guessing.
Have you not noticed any improvement at all in any area of its running having replaced the o rings.
I have posted on another thread about the MAP sensor, cleaning that would not harm anything, but mine ran loads better after I cleaned it.

Oh just to add, when I cleaned the spare MAP I had I didnt push anything down the hole, just used brake cleaner. Having cleaned the one this morning for photos the other thread. against advice I did cut some matchstick down and very carefully used that, The hole geos a long way down the sensor and I know the first one I cleaned you could still see it was blocked so my cleaning effort was not very good but did improve its running.
I will refit the one I cleaned today if it stops raining and see if it makes any difference.

Cleaning the map sensor is all part of the process of cleaning the manifold, and EGR if you still want to stick with the original EGR, some add a bypass EGR.
I change my manifold twice a year once in spring and once in Autumn which will be at the end of September, I carry spares of these due to our R40 meets etc,

It so happens I was doing an inventory of my spare sensors etc this morning pic 4 below
