Well Lads thought I would have a go and look at the display problem on my hevac unit, or lack of display........

about 45mins later and I have a working display :D:D

all fixed with no cost

If I can, I will try and post some photos of the process, but it is easy.

once unit is out undo the scres on the back of unit and carefully slide off the rear shroud..... you can only slide face off so much because of the ribbon from the PCB to the head display.

Then at the rear of the head unit you will see another PCB with about 8 tiny screws holding it in place to the facia, take them out.

take out the pcb and you will see the front of the display (glass piece) under this is a white ribbon, fold down the top of the glass display, the ribbon will act as a hinge, directly under the bottom of the display glass and resting on the ribbon you will see a piece of silicone, It may have moved slighty out of place, this is thecause of the problem for missing lcd numbers.
This silicone actually presses on the ribbon and the bottom part of the glass display rests on top of it, so when it is all screwed in again the glass put pressure on the silicone strip which inturn puts pressure on the ribbon.

Before putting it all back in situ, just plug in the multi plugs and test it, it should be working again. :D

As I said I will try to do some photo's and post on here , only cos I left a screw out and put it back in dash before I found it
but it is working great now, have all numbers back now
