Hi there,
While y'all in the northern hemisphere may be contemplating long summer days stuck in traffic jams on the way to the beach, here in NZ I am eagerly awaiting the start of the ski season. I was therefore somewhat bemused to read in my Freelander's owners manual that only LR approved snow chains should only be fitted and only to 195/80x15 tryes. As it seems a bit innocuous to have a 4x4 that won't take snow chains, does anyone know whether it is possible to fit chains to other tyre sizes and if so, what brand of snow chain is best for ease of fitting and performance? My Freelander has 215/65x16 alloys and, as far as my untrained eye can tell, plenty of clearance around the wheel arch so I can't see what the problem is (apart from I'd rather not scratch my alloys).
