Hi all,

I am trying to find a decent D2 around the £6K mark. Ideally I want a 7 seat one but then have potential concerns over the rear air suspension. I have found a reasonably decent 5 seat GS. Does anybody know whether it is possible to fit rear seats to this one? It has the floor fittings but storage bins on the side instead of seats.

Many thanks, Julian.

too much work really, also the cost and most important the insurance as all 7 seaters have air, unless been removed by owner!
:welcome2:

I have a 7 seat converted from air to springs and my insurers have covered me at no extra cost. £455 no no claims as it is a second car. I thought it wasn't bad at all RSA. Only 6000 miles per year though. So if it's insurance your worried about just check before buying and convert the air to springs might be a lot cheaper.

We have a 5 seater GS which was fitted with the extra seats when we got it.

Told the insurers, no issues at all.

The rear seats were also available as an accessory kit, details in RAVE.

If you're going to do the conversion, fit the 7-seater rear springs, I posted the part numbers yesterday on another related thread.

The 7-seater on springs was never type-approved for the UK, but it is a valid factoru configuration for the car so the insurers won't worry about it.

You need to check weather the floor has the locking points on the floor you may need to replace floor panel for forward facing seats

The locking points are not part of the floor, they are bolt on brackets and should be included as part of the retrofit kit lister mentioned above.
