Hi I've got a range rover classic 1974 petrol v8 that I've dropped the gearbox out of it as it was only a 4 speed gearbox

So I've bought a r380 gearbox but was told my v8 bell housing would fit on the r380 gearbox however it doesn't can anyone help I've been told to purchase a r380 v8 bell housing but can't find one available

my classic was a v8 , but i put a 300tdi in it , i wanted to keep the petrol box ,i think borg warner with the viscose coupling ,had to get an adapter made .
maybee you need a borg viscose gearbox type bell housing?
Adapter plate might be the only way tho , im not sure on the older ones

Haven't a clue, but the Borg Warner with the viscose coupling was the transfer box, not the gear box.

I suspect you will be needing the bellhousing from a later V8/R380 combination such as a Disco

you would need a v8 r380 bell housing from a disco 1 or rrc, iirc you need to alter tunnel

U may find a R380 bell housing from a V8, if u do remember that it will be from a 3.9, I bet that there will be a few changes in the housing from the 3.5 u have.

Block, and therefore boltholes/lugs should be identical.
