Hi, Bought an 4.0 litre engine and LPG kit recently, the theory is that im going to transfer the Kit over to my running engine in my car. It seems simple, but something will not go to plan. My first thoughs are to change the inlet manifold over with injectors then check thing as i go along. My tank will be situated in the spare wheel well, i need to get the copper pipe and clips, and some fittings (any suggestion of supplier) Its a multi-point system. Does anyone know where i could get fitting instructions, with maybe fault finding solutions, soft-ware. Colin

I thought it were also part of the mot test and certificates no longer apply.

If you know different and i'm wrong fair enough, but I think you should check first.

How would anybody know that i have fitted it, i was then getting a local LPG engineer to pass it. When i had a Range Rover with LPG, the MOT tester only did it with it running on petrol (but that was many years ago).

You can fit it yourself but to satisfy your insurance company you will have to have it inspected by a registered LPG place and assuming they find everything ok they will place it on the register. That usually costs between £100 and £150 depending on the garage. More if they find stuff not up to scratch. Do your research because there are lots of rules and regulations when fitting LPG that you might not be aware of. Good luck.

My advice is have it fitted by a Prins registered dealer. In the long run it will save you money. They have all the equipment and computers to set up the system. I have a Prins VSi system fitted on my 2001 4.0 Westminster. It is brilliant.
Speak with David King in the technical dept at Prins 02380 446467. His advice is very sound and helpful. Regarding the MOT testers are now more vigilant regarding LPG conversions. Good luck. MB
