Hello all im after some more help :) I am looking at fitting a oil pressure guage into my defender 200tdi but to be perfectly honest I dont know were to start, I have looked on the Internet for some help but carnt seem to find clear information anyhelp would be very much appreciated thank you

You should find a connection on the oil pump block adjacent to where the oil warning light switch is ... depending on the design of the pump!

If it isn't there you will have to fit a tee piece to fit the switch and the gauge feed pipe.

Thanks for the reply but isnt the oil pump in the sump?? I already have a guage do I take out the existing oil pressure warning light switch and replace with one that reads the pressure or do I add to it? Thanks

yes you need a y or t piece to allow fitting of both

The oil filter housing has the oil pressure switch fitted to it, you remove the switch then fit a T or Y shaped adaptor to where the switch came out. Fit the switch back on to one of the ends of the T or Y and fit the pressure gauge connector to the remaining hole in the adaptor

I just replaced the switch for the gauge, i didn't see the point in the light if i could read the pressure on a gauge ;)

A light coming on may grab your attention, a slowly decreasing needle may not - better safe than sorry
