Hello,

I need to replace the window rubbers on the rear of my Disco, anyone attempted this on their, or do you know of anyone in Sussex who would do it at a reasonable cost?

not tried it yet i need to do it, good string, an extra pair of hand are a help, try youtube for vids, or just call auto trader..is it 3 or 5 door, if 3 wherd ya get your rubbers from.

I wish it was a 3 door with no sunroofs, then there would probably be less leaks.

I've got to rip the insides out this weekend before it turns into a swimming pool.

We replaced the two quarterlight and rear screen rubbers on my Disco 1; they are usually very tight to fit though. Do you have the rubbers already? If not, we could supply and fit at a very sensible price and have branches in Brighton and Crawley. Mail me through my profile if you are interested and I will ask the local branch to contact you.

Do yu supply n fit all disco window seals? If so how much for a new disco1 windscreen seal, fitted?

Early Disco 1 screens were in rubber and are simple and relatively inexpensive to replace. The later screens (like mine, 1995) are direct glazed (glued in/bonded) and whilst straightforward to replace, the top, side and lower trims always needs to be replaced and they are about £140 a set.

We can do both versions and keep the stock for both jobs and cover the South, South West and West Midlands.

Just a word to everyone, there is a lot of Chinese glass coming into the UK at the moment. The quality is not consistent and there can be problems with shape, visual distortion and heating elements not working on some parts. There is also an issue with silicone contamination on the edges of the glass where the adhesive is applied on installation. This will cause the screen to become loose and/or leak if the preparation is not done properly. One of the common kitemarks on this glass is FY. It's not all problematic but we will not buy from them. The majority of our glass comes from Pilkington (formerly Triplex kitemark).

Not a sales pitch, just trying to share some information.

I filled the cracks in my window seals with roof n gutter sealant and waxed them up using under body seal, but any old wax will do I guess.
I did this cos I noticed that the seals absorb water (on mine). If I pressed the seal after its been raining water oozed out of them.
