Hello

There should be a plastic connector block either in the back of the set or.....a few inches down the cables.

:welcome2:

Hi, yes there's a black plastic connector to the back of the radio..it has a picture of a screwdriver to lever it up....did that but still cant see how it comes off the radio, its still attached strongly....real headscratcher!!!

theres a little latch that you need to lever up (assume thats what the screwdriver refrence is to) then its a matter of force!
they can be a real bitch to get off!
worse case scenario is to pull it by the actuall wires on the old stero side of the block connection, if you break that side it wont matter as your getting rid anyway, Just dont pull the other side!

You normally push the plastic tongue in towards the plastic plug to release it. Look carefully, on some it's two plugs side by side.

Good point except them ones dont have pics of screwdrivers on em ;) :D :D

There's several different types of connector and all release different thats why I suggested a photo.

I think the type Lassie described will release as MikeAdams says
the trick is to push the screwdiver in at the same time as you pull the connector out.

Easier said than done ;) :D

Thanks everyone...Had to give up and go to Halfords!!! It was a BMW type and needed more brute force than I dared use! Anyway its off now...would have had to go to Halfords anyway as once it was off, it needed another connector to attach it to new radio....ho hum at least I've got music now...still love my landrover :)
