Thanks Mate. My u bolts are exactly same size as yours. This sided thing has got me stumped now though, both my Springs look exactly the same, it s the difference in the bow just slight or is it noticeable ? as can't tell with mine.

Well cant figure this out cleaned everything up so that nut is defiantly seated in centre but still the same, only thing I can see to solve this is Longer u bolts, but why is this happening and is there longer bolts ??
Cant be that much dirt and paint inbetween leafs as I did clean them up quite good.
Rear one has gone on perfect, thats if its the right way round.
Doing my head in now was hoping to get chassis rolling by weekend for engine coming.

Put a straight edge or string across the top of the springs and measure gap down to bow of spring see what difference you get larger gap is drivers side..

Sorted :) well just about, my local landy specialist gave me some longer ones, the 3 rounded ones fit perfect, but the flat top longer one was still to short, hope he has a longer one of these tomorrow.

Just a quick one while still on the subject of leafs. Just about ready to fit rear axle to chassis, but which of these 2 holes do I use , not sure why there is 2 there ??

I would hazard a guess you use the bottom hole, as top hole may allow spring safety leaf to hit the underside of the chassis?

If you look on Paddocks site they list only 2 type of bolt flat top or rounded for petrol or diesel but the ones I have here are round top but different sizes I think they are original as it spent most of it's life in Africa and the Canaries before here in Portugal everything looks original and rust free...
