probably not, but it certainly will help! Yes it is easy. undoing the old shocks may not be so easy though. just follow the manual. and always replace them in pairs!

No just jack the front up and put the axle stands under the chassis. the weight of the axle will pull it down once the shockers are undone. top nut is usually the worst one to undo, A stilson on the shocker usally sorts it out though. If you're changing the springs as well get new turret rings and nuts as you almost always snap a couple of the bolts off.
 
some smart arse ;) haha, good tip on the turret bolts would of bin bolloxd without new ones some bolts are already missin!

be careful with your flexi hoses when you drop the axle down as if they are standard length you may damage them.
