I did take this the other day for you, my 2001 has an oem rear power supply socket just to show how it's fitted

Think the picture is of the off side with the tailgate in the right of the pic.So your filler is on the n/s ?
Whopps. You're right. Assumed he'd put it on the LHS where the caravan electrics flow. My filler cap is indeed o/s. Power outlet nearside. Couldn't put it below the flap because that part was stoved in when I got the car, a niggle I keep looking at and wondering whether to do anything about.

That's how I felt yesterday after a rather heavy night on the beers.

That is the factory fitted auxiliary socket MY 2000 and on. Earlier one was fitted to N/S into radio amp cover.

Interesting.

And the ripcord? Looks like a good idea should the solenoid ever fail. Maybe something for the tailgate would be a good idea too.

The rip cord and power socket are factory fit as far as I know. I think all cars have the cord just often the tag gets broken or I think?

Mine doesn't or it's come adrift, will have to fit one you never know when latch will go tits up. ;)

They added the rip cord for the filler flap mid way through P38 production. My '95 didn't have one and I can't remember about the '98 - but my '01 does

Part number for it is FUW100000 but as it's no longer available, any old piece of cord will do it i suppose. ;);)
