Hi ive recently bought a freelander s reg 1.8 petrol, ive bought some kuhmo at tires for it but garages are saying the will rub and dont want to fit them however many people on my estate off road and say it will be fine.... Not sure what to do, is there anything i can do to prevent them rubbing or im thinking there taking precausions and it will be dine :/

There 16.75 i think mate not sure off the top of my head and on it atm are 16.65

225/75/16 they are

They'll foul on your suspension - the lower spring cup, and will rub on your wheel arch on lock. You'll need some hubcentric spacers for those to fit without rubbing. It's marginal even then - you may want to consider a 40mm lift kit to give more clearance on the inner arch.

I was guesing that would be the anser how much would be a decent price for a lift kit? If i can even find one

A number of us have this kit. I did 2500 miles across Europe and back on the Help for Heroes rally running this lift kit - solid as. There are cheaper ones out there but the welding is shocking - I wouldn't trust them.

As for spacers - 20-30mm needed. These fit. http://www.mansfield4x4burystedmunds.com/freelander_accessories.php

You want hubcentric spacers, 114.3x5 with 64.1 hub.
