I know there is bound to be one somewhere, but as this is another opportunity to up my post count so that I can get closer to posting ads, does anyone have or know of a guide to fitting an oil catch tank to a 90.

Do a search. Easy and cheap mate all you need is a tin sheet...!
Step 1, place said sheet on driveway...
Step 2, park 90 on top of tin sheet..
Step 3, Get out of 90...
Step 4, Gaze in total satisfaction at the oil catcher that cost you pennys...
Added benfit you can collect all of the "caught" oil back into a container and re-use!

2.5 td (19J) getting oil leaking into filter housing via the cap breather hose. Recall seeing something in recently on here regarding similar problem that had been rectified by fitting a catch tank. I have tried the search facility but to no avail.
For info, no probs with the engine, not running away or anything like that and in fact is going really well at the mo' almost had 70mph this morning on way to work (yes I've checked it is a 19J)

Carry on pushing a 19j hard and you won't need a catch tank.....not one that'll fit in the engine bay anyway

To be fair 19j's do suffer from heavy breathing, later one's had a modified breather to try and deal with it.
People do all sorts from sticking the breather into the chassis and hoping they don't kill too many bikers to adapting Tdi cyclone type breathers.
I literally took the hose off the air pipe, blocked the hole in the air pipe, put a hole in the bottom of a oasis bottle, taped hose from engine on to the top of said bottle and cable tied to vacuum hose! worked like a dream!
until three weeks later when a conrod came out the bottom of the engine!
standard advice for 19j owners, save up for a TDI!

So, I got my monkey to do a search and noticed that you had fitted one and appeared helpful in that post. So did it help yours any & why won't it work in mine?

It did help mine but I fitted it to a 200tdi. Mine wasn't breathing really heavily but I still wasnt keen on the oil in the air filter and for the cost of the setup I couldn't really complain. The oily sludge that it collected though was horrid but rather in that than in my air filter
