Hi guys, I'm trying to fit an aftermarket stereo to my freebie, but after checking the connections the, the adaptors that are available dont seem to fit. Is there an easy fix or will I need to get the connections hard wired ??

The connectors are standard DIN plugs so should be easy to fit a stereo. Mine took 10 minutes tops and everything was supplied with the head unit to plug it strait in!!

The connector on mine is the BMW type, round pin but a BMW to ISO adaptor patch lead should be available.

year/model/photos???

different types of head unit connections have been used over the years...standard iso, bmw round pin and ford ....

Did my 05 some weeks a go and had to buy a adaptor from Halfrauds
Only £14ish and took minutes to plug in

Nothing to add here sorry, except does anyone know of a cd stereo with front aux in that would replace the original radio cassete. Is there one that would work with the steering controls and clock?

Sorry to veer of subject

The Car is an 01 plate td4 3 door the stereo has the 6 disc changer. From the sound of it, it maybe the BMW connector.

Sony CDX-GT450U CD/Mp3 Head Unit with Front USB and: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
Thats what I fitted in mine . Transfer all cd's or download more and whack it onto a usb stick . I think theres 40-50 albums on my 16mb memory stick .

Its been in months now .A few days ago I got a brainwave and put it on shuffle . Its way better than listening to a whole metallica or stones or die antwood or howling wolf or tom waits or beatles or garbage or stones or any of the other 40 odd albums on the thing .

Cd's had there day a long long while ago .
