Hi

The current oil pressure sender switch on my Landy is knackered. I've just ordered a new one for all of two quid. Does anyone know how to fit one of these or at least where abouts it is fitted.

I'm sure its a simple DIY job and that its probably situated by the oil filter. If someone can tell this novice how to fit it without breaking something I'd really appreciate the help.

Cheers

Its on the oil filter housing.
Unplug the wire, Put a spanner on the switch and screw it out, screw the new one on, tight, pug the wire back on.

How do you know the sender unit is faulty?

Thanks for the info Davec

I think its the sender because the pressure light keeps flickering on and off and just last week it started to stay on apart rom when travelling at approx. 50mph. The performance of the engine is fine oil levels etc fine as well.

I thought as the sender is a cheap part and probably a simple part to fit it might be the best thing to do first and if that doesn't work, then investigate from there.

Thanks again Ed Cholsey

Thanks for that, I've bought the sender now but I'll check the wiring between the sender and the light as you advise.

Thanks again for your help

and make sure yer terminal that connects to yer sender is in good nick. its not unknown fer them to get full of oil and give bad readings. in this case solder is definatly better than crimp
