Easy peasy! 1/2 hr job tops.
15mm spanner on the belt tensioner, take the tension off and slip the belt off the alternator pulley (minding fingers), remove 3 wires on the back of alternator and undo the bolts (i think its 3, 1 on the top and the bottom 2 need a 10mm spanner/socket)

Have fun!

Just make sure when you reconnect the terminals that they are all clean and in good condition, you dont get them mixed up (writing wire colours and terminal markings down helps).

There are 2 alternator types, and most suppliers will want the serial/part number of the old one, which is often not visible til you remove it. Also some suppliers only do exchange, so there will be a big surcharge if you dont take your old one in, but some just sell new ones.

Make sure you disconnect the battery first!

and make sure that you specify for a Disco 300tdi not the deepender, cos the alts are different, disco is 100amp and deeep is 65 amp and that would be no good to you.
