I am just going to start this conversion. I have one question if I fit a defender 200 tdi exhaust manifold to a discovery 200 tdi will there be any problems. I am thinking this would be the best option so I can fit a defender 200 tdi exhaust or is there something I am missing. I found this online https://www.lrparts.net/exhaust-manifold-for-defender-200tdi-diesel.html . This seems better than the Steve parker modified exhaust or is there something I dont know and this wont work? Any advice grateful recieved

You'll need more than just that, inlet would have to be changed as well, have a google of some images you'll see there's quite a few differences. Modded exhaust is much easier

Have a look at the Glencoyne website, lots of good detail and explanations of the process. If you have a discovery 200tdi, you will need to make or buy a downpipe. Steve Parker and many others sell them.

Problem is the engine sits further back and down pipe will not fit in smaller space. You need to modify it or buy one.

As said above, http://www.glencoyne.co.uk/tdiguide.htm.
If you haven't bought your engine yet, have a look at his 300tdi guide as well.
As for as your original question, if you source a 200tdi 90/110 exhaust manifold, a lot of the exhaust fitting problems will be avoided, BUT the manifolds are like rocking horse 5hit.

Thanks I just use the Steve parker exhaust pipe I all ways trying to reinvent the wheel
