I was going to say that
well... i'm a paranoid novice - and not asked the question yet! i've asked many other stupid questions, but not this one yet
Anyway... thanks for the eBay links!
The one you linked to was £15.52 including postage, so I've had a look around and found a Silverline one for £5.79 including postage!
See here: 500cc CAR GEARBOX OIL SUCTION HAND GUN PUMP | eBay
That should be just as good, hopefully.
Now to find a good motor factors who can sell me all the necessary fluids!
All fluids were last checked and topped up 7,000 miles ago, so the levels should still be good.
Anyway, just to confirm, what I'll need is:
- Engine oil (have gallons of that already)
- Auto gearbox - ATF Dextron IID (9.1 litres)
- Diffs - EP90 (3.4 litres [1.7 litres for each diff])
- Transfer box - EP90 (2.3 litres)
- Power steering fluid - ATF Dextron IID (3.4 litres)
- Swivel balls - EP90 (0.7 litres [0.35 litres for each swivel])
So, in total, I need:
12.5 litres ATF Dextron IID
6.4 litres EP90
right?
Obviously, if the power steering fluid still has a nice cherry red colour to it and smells normal, there's no need to change it.
Also, given that both swivel balls have had a one-shot in them, should I just take out the level plug and filler plug and fill with EP90 until it slowly comes out of the level plug anyway or will that potentially over-fill them? If so, how on earth do I check the level of the one-shotted swivel balls?!?
