Sorry that my first question is a rather stupid one
Had a very quick look at a 2005 (05 plate) rangie today and going back for a second look tomorrow (Tuesday)
I’m trying to find out what the equipment spec should be so I can check that everything works, but I’m having trouble
Don’t want to say the passengers wing mirror doesn’t dip down when reversing if it isn’t supposed to
All I know is :-
05 plate
Diesel v6
Auto
Black
Cream leather trim
Appears to drive smooth but had slight “knock” but the chap selling rang me back to say it was a drop link and he was changing it
So a better test drive and inspection tomorrow

thanks chaps
Dave

Not much help but spec could be any thing depends on what was order`d when new and as for mirror if control is set to drivers side passengers side will dip on selecting reverse if switch is set to passenger side then no dip on reverse.

L322 is not a v6
Spec depends on what first owner asked for. Also can sometimes depend on trim.
If there is a control for it, and it doesn't work, ask seller

Oh and one thing to be very aware of

WE ARE NOT ALL CHAPS!!
FFS!

Seriously which century is this, and why are so many men stuck about 2 centuries behind. Bad enough with some of the ones we have without more joining them.

thanks for reply,so basically I’ve no chance of knowing exactly what I’m getting, I’ll just twiddle, flick or push every button or switch
I thought it was a v6

No offence intended,
I call everyone I know or meet
either :-
Boss, chaps or mate regardless of who or what they are

I’ll check it out and see what happens

If it's an L322 diesel, it's either a straight six or a V8. If it's a straight six, the GM gearbox is prone to failure any time after 80K miles.

Do some reading on which trim , usually, brought which toys, as standard. Then work from there.
Although playing with all switches , etc, is a good start. In fact I wouldn't even think about making an offer on a vehicle, unless I had tested all the buttons. No other way to know if they work.
No it's not a v6. :)
As for the other bit, mate I will take, boss, yep, sometimes even a generic 'guys' , but 'chaps', nope, nope, nopey, no. :D

Really you want a diagnostic kit to plug in and see what faults are stored. Only way to know with complicated machine.
Even a little Bluetooth one that connects to your phone would be better than nothing.

FM you're techy ain't ya!
Nah , some would say I'm sweetness and light
