At a guess, the multi plug connector has come loose on the back of the dash.

Before panicking and stripping the dash apart try placing a hand flat onto the front of the dash guages and pressing firmly. (Vauxhall corsas about 1999 onwards are prone to this happeing). If that doesn't work, it may be necessary to strip the dash to get to the multiplug.

from the ignition where dose the power go first relays?
when you turn on fuel pump runs , handbrake light, oil light , battery light all come on its the last bit of turn nothing happens :(
 
Col.... exactly how did you fix this one? Was it the boot on the dashboard that fixed it or the fuse or was it terminal?

Now if its fixed itself that's cool, coz the next time it happens you'll be in 2 feet of mud wiv no wellies!
