afternoon. Half day again wuz it?

Telly tubbies bin doing some diy on his landy today. He skived off work again. He had to fit a pair of wheel bearings.:D:D:D

lights come on dash no clicking just turn the key and nothing happens

Check the connections on your starter motor first off. You'll have 2 thick wires and one thin wire. Give the thin one a wiggle and then try starting it again. It sounds like the starter motor or the feed to the starter motor is the fault.

Is the immobiliser light on the dash lil, flashing or out while this is happening?

Get yer arse outside and try wiggling the small starter lead first. Come back and tell us if that works or not and we'll go from there.

i would but i am 85 miles form me beloved chariot so going out side won't help
thanks for your quick reply s

will no more wed hopefully have some answers for you

Get yourself a multi meter or 12v test light (only about £5-£10. Even argos do em) and an assistant. connect the black lead of the multimeter (or test light) to the engine block or a suitable earth. Connect the red lead (or the test lights probe) to the small connector on the starter. Get said assistant to attempt to start the engine. If the multimeter shows a reading of 12v+ or the test light lights up the feed to the starter is present and the starter motor itself is at fault. If the the above doesn't happen then try bridging a short bit of wire from the starter motors main positive lead to the small lead. If it turns over then it's time to start tracing the wire/fuse that you were on about.

 its not the hours you put in its what you put in the hours that count!:D

Good thing where you're concerned. Spending the day dribbling and playing scrabble wiv the other oldies aint exactly taxing.:D:D:D:bolt:

Robin's pretty upset at the moment. He spent more on a wheel bearing for his disco than he wanted to on a whole 90.;):p:p:p
