Feel reasonably happy with the huge hole in my wallet having played with it a bit. Cleared a couple of logged fault codes, nothing interesting but we’ll see if they come back. Alarm disarm set to all and I’ve enabled daytime running lights just because I can. Is there anything I need to avoid playing with?

Obviously hope not to have any major issues with the car but it’s nice to know I’ll have a gadget on board to help me out if I do.
 
You can change your EKA code to make it something you can remember.

Connect it and take it for a drive on a set route, save the file and you can always use it asa refencer if any running isssues start up.

Will do, the recording function was the thing that swung the nanocom for me. I have an SD card to go in it, just need to rtfm and make sure it’s formatted correctly.
 
If you played in the BCU check carefully all the warning lights for the existing systems to work on self test(especially SLABS related, glow plug, etc) cos nanocom used to have a mind of it's own from time to time and modify instrument pack settings without request.

I got one a couple of months ago and used it to clear the Three Amigo's only. Do you think I should do some other stuff, or leave well alone ??

That sounds like a bit of a case of, "If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is".
By all means plug it in and see what's what, just don't change anything!

I think with anything like this you take a chance whatever you do. I’ll probably turn off the running lights, not that useful. I’ve had a good play through the menus, not trying to fix anything but just because I was trying to learn what it did. Just need to have a read up about how to record a drive next.

As long as all the warning lights of the existing systems are working on ignition self test no probs, also to clear the amigos you worked in the SLABS menu not in the BCU where nanocom used to have demons in it

Ok guys, thanks. That was my thoughts to be honest. I have found and fixed enough issues with the chassis, footwells and inner arches lately without going looking for more problems to keep me awake.
 
Definitely verify that you have the most recent firmware installed on your Nanocom.
I've met people who never updated their Evo so they were missing very important troubleshooting screens and software fixes.
 
Nanocom used to alter settings without request once connected so go into BCU settings - lights/windows/seats and make sure that the "Daytime run lights" was not accidentally enabled, it should be on "none"

The more I hear about Nanocoms the more I am glad I don't have one!;)
