Thanks for all your replies, I don’t thinking had many things replaced, It’s only ever been used as a car in a holiday home and has just been stored in a garage for a long time before I got it. Hopefully I’ll be able to find someone fairly local who knows what they’re talking about and can have a quick look at it for me so I’ve a better idea what to do with it going forward :)x

In a trailer yes, I wouldn’t be towing until the chassis was 100% though!

You'll get to know our sence of humour on here the longer you stay around...lol...post up some pics of bulkhead and chassis especially rear end of chassis as it's the bit that rots the most as it gets all the spray from road and none from leaking engine and box...post in 90/defender section more gurus will notice it...

Just take a hammer to all of the frame and hangers. If it makes a resounding bang and knocks off some surface rust you are good to go. If it makes a hole not so good.

Yours sounds like my Discovery, little use and stored in a dry garage.
As long as it was stored correctly.. not put away with wet mud stuck to the underside, that sort of thing. It should have lasted better than some.

Except that your Discovery is very unlikely to have had a 19j.

Iirc that is how lr quoted the wheelbase?

Wiki does anyway.

Dimensions
Wheelbase

  • 92.9 in (2,360 mm) (90)
  • 110 in (2,794 mm) (110)
  • 127 in (3,226 mm) (127)
Length
  • 160.5 in (4,077 mm) (90)
  • 181.1 in (4,600 mm) (110)
Width 70.5 in (1,791 mm)
Height
  • 80.2 in (2,037 mm) (90)
  • 84 in (2,134 mm) (110)

But is it because its easier to write rather than 7' 8 29/32";)

Imperial Units
92 29/32 Inches (fraction)
92.9 Inches
Metric Units
2,359.66 Millimeters

I actually used to work with the messed up 10inches with ten tenths to a foot, the actual foot was the same as a 12inch foot:confused:

All good fun:D
