There was a nice brand new chrome Bullbar for £115 for pre face on the irish lads stand. Duckworths had light guards and service kits but that was about it. Mine was on a club stand behind the bar

I missed the bull bar , but it would not have fitted mine , was yours the 54 plate with durham 4×4 net on the wheel cover ? And there was a nice Bowler at the show :)

Maybe you've met some blokes in the past who literally put a flashing light on their vehicles and pretended to be a member of a 4x4 response group, but weren't actually signed up members? From what I can tell 4x4 response groups are professionally run and linked to the emergency services.

It would seem unlikely that people who are kind enough to volunteer (at their own time, finances and personal safety) are annoying ego driven people.

E.g these groups that look well run and are registered charities:

About Us | Sussex 4x4 Response

Maybe you met a bad egg in a generally good spirited environment.
I'm sure members of the public are glad to see a volunteer turn up in heavy snow/flooding and pull their car out of a ditch, all for free!

I can vouch for Surrey 4x4 Response. They are a great charity professionally run and are lottery funded. We helped out with the floods in Chertsey and surrounding areas and have an excellent working relationship with the emergency services. We have a waiting list to join. The trustees are very proactive and Have no time of day for these people who were described above. One of our guys ended up at no 10 representing us all.

We went to the show, disappointing really, expected more. We went on the off road course too and made my mind up to save my hard earned cash for a defender.
