Hello everyone new member here, I recently agreed to purchase my friend's mum Series 3 from her.
the price is agreed and the sale will go ahead once I return to the UK, for longer then a few weeks.
The land Rover its self is 74 Series 3 SWB with a 300 tdi kinda wedged in to it, it all runs and drives fine but I have no idea of its history just that according to its MOTs it failed every year for 9 years and then was fixed and retested but kept the same mileage throughout all of the MOTs apart from the last few when the owner changed.
there are some random things such as bucket seats and 4 point harness aswel as smaller steering wheel that will get returned to originals.
this will be a sort of weekend project for me and will be slow going due to my work young son but i am to do as much as i can and learn along the way.

is there a particular website to avoid using (bad product/service/over priced ect)

Hi and welcome!

A series 3 pretending to be a defender! Looks like a good project. Let us know how you get on with it.

I believe it was more done to keep the Landy on the road over to desire to be a defender, I think that it was a farm truck that was probably very damaged and rebuilt on a new galvanised chassis just to keep the number plate as its now MOT and TAX exempt, although I don't know when any of this work was done to it.
either way I like it and was a pretty good price haha.

Tyres! Snap lol.

Try to avoid main dealers, but I guess you know that by looks of things ;)
haha yeah one of the things I am struggling to find is a series 3 front end. I am still away at the moment but just from googling about no one seems to sell Series 3 wing tops? I can find used bonnets and front grill as well as the apron (very expensive) but the tops seem to be elusive. I am of course assuming that the Defender ones will not fit with the Series 3 bonnet that is.
