Hi I have just bought a 2001 freelander it has the three amigos I knew when I bought also the hand brake ligh was on constant I thought I had cured that as the h/b adjustment was only 1 click its now 5 clicks and the brake light on the dash has come back on :( I have to replace the front discs and pads so ill see what lights still remain on once there done, I did not think I would like the freelander as I have always had either range rover or discovery but I do like how it drives :)

Hi sorry I should have said the discs and pads need replaced its not because the lights are on ps I aint made of money I wish

well I checked the pads and discs they are ok the front wheel sensors are ok checked with a multi meter I tried to get to the rear connectors but the wheels need to come off I think. and the side jack I don't trust them. and my wee trolly jack aint got the height I think I need to get an obd scanner whats a good one for the fl1 ? thanks

as yours is a 2001 , you wont get a scanner to read anything,

if you do let me know

Hi the engine is the 1.8 petrol if a scanner wont read anything why does the car have obd connections under the bonnet and inside the car at passenger side

you might have more luck as yours is a petrol,
my 2001 td4 is not compliant with the budget readers, would need to use expensive test book ie landy dealers

The OBD2 port is on the passenger side of the centre console. A cheap OBD2 scanner will only show engine error codes. To view other systems error codes, you need a reader like a Hawkeye or LR's T4.
As far as I know, there's no data port in the engine bay.

Hi I have tested the wheel sensors and all are reading over 1000 ohms only one was covered black on the sensor face. I also took the brake light switch off and it tested ok.the I took the gear stick hdc switch off and that was ok.and has 12v at the plug. but when its switched on and the motors in 1st gear the hdc light dosent come on it dose come on when ignition is turned on for a few seconds what else can I check too get the 3 amigo lights to go off thanks

You need to put it on a code reader - take it to a garage that will read it. There are things that I think you can't check - eg the modulator which is what went on mine.
