That looks like its been stolen and then set alight when it either broke down or they had get fed up..

Mind you are the Freelander's supposed to be really hard to start without the key chip???

They are quite often hard to start with the key chip!!!

Is this going to be a spin off from the what do you call your landy thread, the what did you end up doing to your landy when it broke

Looking at the damage to the rear and under the rear end, that amount of burning would have melted the plastic diesel tank. So I would guess it's either got no fool in it or it would have ended up like this:

Just out of interest does anyone know where it is, and which bus route to the train station?

Not mine thank god , the story goes , this was caused by an electrical fault  whats your thoughts on the likely cause ?
Again thanks for your views , this was a local td4 , and when i first saw it i thought that looks smart , i asked the owner last october had he replaced the crankcase breather , never heard of it he replied , i even offered to do the job , but he was not bothered  We as freelander owners have enough to contend with , without having the extra burdon of an electrical problem causing this , When i was shown these images , strait away i thought arson , either malice a forethought , or jewish , what a waste of a motor , the damage to the rear looks external , as mentioned the fire brigade will get to the bottom of the cause !
