Hello. Just got the landy back complete with new crossmember :D

I have given the x-member two coats of red oxide, and Im going to paint it black with hammarite, and tetroseal the rear of the x-member. What Im wondering is should I hammarite the rear of the x-member as well as tetroseal it, or just tetroseal over the red oxide?

I will post up some pics once its done.

Thanks, Ash

Usually putting anything on top of Hammerite (other than Hammerite) causes a reaction and all the paint falls off. Tetrosyl Chassis Paint is good, a few coats of that all over should be fine.

Did you remove the mill scale before you painted it? as in getting it all shiny

Just some pics of it on;

Nice touch I thought

Me boys like it;

I had Pressbrakes recovery point welded to my towing bracket, super strong now!

Will post more once its painted.

This is what I have just done:-

Extra coats, all round, of Red Oxide followed by Hammerite smooth black top coats.

And, Hammerite Underbody Seal with added Waxoyl on the inside.

Not sure if my three give a toss about anything but sleeping, eating & picking up.
